“At that first event, I met Ricardo Maldonado, who encouraged me to attend the Annual Holiday Luncheon. The atmosphere was ideal for engaging with others, and I knew right away that the BABCPHL was the place to expand my business connections,” Stan recalls.
Stan officially joined the BABCPHL in 2008, and over the years, has built lasting relationships with Jane Rosenberg, the Executive Director, and Jaime Scofield, whose dedication and approach foster a sense of community to Stan. Notably, Stan praises how the team that is in place today, continues to “build on the BABCPHL reputation of an incredibly welcoming environment to conduct business, both with Philadelphia based and international organizations.” This environment extends beyond the Atlantic, Stan shares. “The insights I’ve gained from the BABC community have helped me stay on top of business trends on both sides of the Atlantic, which is invaluable for my work in executive coaching.”
A memorable moment for Stan was the Virtual Networking Event hosted by the BABCPHL during the pandemic. “It was amazing to network online with so many members. You could move from one virtual table to another, just as you would in person. It was an incredibly innovative way to keep connections strong despite the challenges,” he recalls. When asked about the most valuable part of being a BABCPHL member, Stan says it’s the inspiration he draws from meeting professionals across fields. “The mix of insights, fresh perspectives, and the genuine support from others in the community is energizing. It reminds me why I’m passionate about helping today’s and tomorrow’s leaders reach their full potential,” he explains.
Stan’s advice for new members is to start by attending a few networking events. “Take time to learn about other businesses and be patient—those initial connections can lead to lasting relationships, and even future friends, clients, or customers when you least expect it,” he advises.
