Dear BABCPHL Members and Friends,
Today marks the close of another fiscal year for the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, offering an opportunity to reflect on what has been an exciting and productive twelve months for our organization.
Over the past year, we have continued to strengthen and expand our role as the trusted connector of Philadelphia’s transatlantic business community. Through thought leadership programs, executive discussions, networking events, and opportunities to elevate the voices shaping our region, we have remained focused on bringing people together to build relationships, exchange ideas, and strengthen the US-UK business relationship.
This year, we welcomed hundreds of business leaders representing multinational corporations, professional service firms, government agencies, educational institutions, and growing businesses from across our region. Together with our Board of Directors, sponsors, and international partners, we delivered a diverse program of events exploring trade and tariffs, expert perspectives on the global economy, women’s leadership, the financial impact of the FIFA World Cup, healthcare innovation, manufacturing, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on business efficiency, with subject-matter expertise from leaders across these industries.
While honoring many of our longstanding traditions, we also introduced new programs designed to foster more meaningful conversation. One highlight was our inaugural International Women’s Day Roundtable, Leading Women, developed in partnership with the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia. Bringing together some of the region’s most influential women leaders, the discussion was candid, thoughtful, and exactly the type of conversation our business community benefits from. We look forward to hosting this event again in March.
As we begin a new fiscal year, you can expect even more from the British American Business Council. Behind the scenes, we are taking a focused look at our programming, events, and membership benefits to ensure they continue to evolve alongside the needs of our members and the broader international business community. Needs have shifted for businesses and members in the past years, and we are committed to meeting them. This July will be a month of strategic planning, collaboration and plenty of hard work—perhaps even more than the English football team.
As always, we are also continuing to strengthen our relationships across Philadelphia’s international business ecosystem, working alongside chambers of commerce, regional consulates, economic development organizations, and civic partners to reinforce Greater Philadelphia’s position as a premier destination for international investment, innovation, and trade.
Our new fiscal year begins with one of our signature events: the 14th Annual Summer International Business Networking Reception on July 23 at Quorum at the University City Science Center. Bringing together more than 120 international business professionals, this annual event celebrates the partnerships, industries, and infrastructure that drive long-term economic growth across our region. We are especially proud that this year’s event will once again benefit the Ronald McDonald Camp, a core program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region, helping provide life-changing summer camp experiences for children with cancer and their siblings. Come out to support, connect, and leave with a sense of pride in the work being done right here in our region.
Looking ahead, our commitment remains the same: to deliver relevant programming, create valuable business connections, and strengthen the US-UK relationship throughout Greater Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. On behalf of our staff, President Zac Taormina, and our Board of Directors, thank you to our members, sponsors, partners, and friends for your continued support. Your engagement is what makes this organization so valuable, and we look forward to building on this momentum together in the year ahead.
We hope to see many of you on July 23 and throughout the coming year. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is any way we can support you or your business.
In gratitude and partnership,
Mackenzie
