On July 1, 2020, Philadelphia-based law firm, Pepper Hamilton LLP and Atlanta-based law firm Troutman Sanders LLP completed a merger and became Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP (Troutman Pepper). Troutman Pepper will have 1,100 lawyers in 23 cities. CEO Stephen Lewis will lead the merged firm. “Our expanded capabilities and bigger footprint will allow us to deliver a new level of service to our clients. The combining of the two storied firms presented an opportunity to seamlessly merge different but complementary strengths of each,” Lewis said in a statement, adding that Troutman Sanders specialized in serving the energy, banking, finance, and insurance industries, while Pepper Hamilton specialized in the health care, life sciences, and private equity practices.
