Dear BABCPHL Members and Friends,
As we move into the spring and summer seasons, I’m pleased to share continued momentum across our business community and to extend a warm welcome to our newest members. We are delighted to have you join our globally connected network.
Beyond our community programming, we also continued to advance meaningful transatlantic dialogue and engagement through high-level policy and business discussions. This past February, we were pleased to host MP Stephen Doubty for a transatlantic business roundtable during his visit to the Northeast corridor. In collaboration with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and the British Consulate General New York, we convened members and colleagues for a timely and insightful conversation. While the session ultimately shifted to a virtual format due to the February blizzard, it underscored the importance of maintaining open dialogue across borders. These roundtables remain a cornerstone of our mission and a vital part of strengthening transatlantic engagement in every network.
Looking ahead, we are looking forward for several upcoming programs this month. On May 14th, we will host our Emerging Leaders Happy Hour, bringing together young professionals who are helping shape the future of global business. This event is designed to ensure that, alongside our core programming, there are accessible and welcoming ways for new and emerging members to get involved. Later this month, on May 21st, we will convene our Economics of the World Cup program at Morgan Lewis, exploring the global economic impact of this landmark event. We look forward to hearing from leaders across Philadelphia’s sports and business community, and to examining the opportunities this moment presents as we build toward 2026.
We are also making a strategic move to strengthen and modernize our member benefits and membership levels. In the coming months, members can expect to see updates outlining how we are evolving our structure to better reflect today’s business environment and the needs of our network. This effort is focused on enhancing value, improving engagement opportunities, and ensuring our offerings continue to actively support the strength and growth of the U.S./U.K. trade corridor.
With major global milestones on the horizon, including the 2026 World Cup and the 250th Anniversary of the United States, Philadelphia is increasingly stepping into the international spotlight. We are excited for the city’s growing global role and proud that BABC will help connect our members to these historic moments of opportunity and engagement.
As we continue through the year, I encourage you to stay actively involved! Whether by attending events, connecting with fellow members, or engaging with the broader network. This organization is strongest when participation is active and shared, and your engagement is what continues to drive its impact.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and continuing to build a strong, connected transatlantic business community together.
Regards,
Zac Taormina
President, British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia
