Transatlantic Business Activity Report – May 12, 2025

I am thrilled to report on three exciting transatlantic business development activities.

1. On May 2^nd we welcomed a large group of British health tech companies participating in the ABHI US Accelerator Mission to New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The delegates enjoyed a whirlwind day of meetings and tours of a few major area institutions, including a visit with BABCPHL Club Level Member, Penn Medicine, and Temple University and Jefferson Health. These meetings included conversations led by regional business leaders including executives from the university networks, the Penn Center for Innovation, and IBX. Click here for the event recap.
2. The historic trade deal signed last week represents a critical step forward in the special relationship between the US and the UK, promoting reciprocal trade between the two nations that are key allies and partners. The deal establishes a new paradigm for US-UK relations and creates a framework to bolster economic security. Please click here to read more.
3. On May 21^st we are hosting an exclusive event welcoming Oliver Christian, His Majesty’s Consul General to New York and His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for North America to Philadelphia for the first time in his new role. Oliver will discuss the business and diplomatic priorities facing the US and the UK. Featured speakers from the public and private sectors will address how the strong historic, political, cultural, and economic ties between the two nations position the US and the UK to collaborate on some of the greatest issues facing us today – economic resilience, peace and security, and climate change.
