After relocating to Philadelphia from Britain, Ben Hooson-Jones sought to expand his professional network, and a client, who is also a BABCPHL member, recommended the group. Since that initial conversation with his client, Ben shares,
“I’ve gained so much from the network and the community and haven’t looked back.”
Ben is truly the consummate networker, and professional. Shortly after becoming involved with the organization, Ben was promoted to help co-lead the BABCPHL Emerging Leaders Group.
Through the BABC, Ben has expanded his connections within the British and expat communities, which has significantly supported his real estate business. “I’ve had the chance to help others pursue the American dream by buying, selling, and investing in real estate,” he explains. These relationships, built through shared goals and a supportive community, have been integral to Ben’s professional growth.
A highlight for Ben each year is the BABC’s annual holiday lunch, which he considers the start of his holiday season. “The event brings everyone together, celebrating successes and looking forward to the year ahead. It’s always a wonderful opportunity to connect and share experiences,” Ben says. For Ben, the BABC’s greatest value lies in its ability to expand his reach both nationally and internationally. “I believe in the idea that your network is your net worth,” a common saying that holds truth especially in real estate. The BABC has notably opened doors for Ben and his career, expanding his network, alongside his net worth.
To new or prospective members, Ben offers this advice: “Dive in! Be active, be engaged, and show as much value as you can. The community gives back tenfold”, so long as you “contribute more than you expect to receive.”
