Around the Globe & At Home in Philadelphia: The Status of DE&I In the Corporate World – Recap

On Thursday, April 11th the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia was pleased to partner with the Irish American Business Chamber & Network for the latest installment of their Women in Leadership Series Around the Globe and at Home in Philadelphia: The Status of DE&I In the Corporate World at The Pyramid Club.

More than 50 guests attended the dynamic panel discussion featuring: Lauren Holden, Partner, KPMG; Sheila Alexander-Reid, PHL Diversity Executive Director, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Julia Fleischner, Trustee of the Philadelphia Art Museum and Chair of the Museum’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee and Trustee & Board Chair of Mural Arts Philadelphia.

The session covered a series of topics related to state of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) framework in the corporate world, policies, and initiatives in 2024. Panelists discussed how the concept and definition of DE&I has evolved over time, where it is headed, and how we can each do our part to advance this critical movement, enabling everyone to feel a sense of belonging, and giving everyone from all backgrounds and abilities a chance to succeed.

Guests enjoyed learning from and interacting with the speakers, eating a delicious three course meal, and networking with leaders from the Greater Philadelphia area international business and multicultural community.

Special thanks to the Irish Chamber for inviting us to collaborate with them, and the French and German Chambers on this timely and important program.
