International Networking @ Yards Brewery – Recap

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia (BABCPHL) hosted the Winter International Business Networking Reception – The Path to High Impact Business & Successful Entrepreneurial Activities at Yards Brewery in partnership with nine international groups. Together we welcomed more than 150 professionals involved in global business for an inspiring evening of relationship building and fun!

Jason Walker, Treasurer of the BABCPHL and Managing Partner, Cross Border Financial Planning USA LLC, welcomed guests and recognized the BABCPHL Emerging Leader Group Co-Chairs, Ben Hooson-Jones, Licensed Realtor with Keller Williams and The Mike McCann Team, and Melissa McClure, Global Tourism Sales Manager, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau. Ben and Melissa spoke about their roles, and the importance of networking to expand global business throughout the region to increase opportunities. They introduced speakers, James Medaglio, Director, Business Attraction & Expansion, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, Affiliate, BABCPHL, and our hosts and keynote speakers for the evening, Tom Kehoe, Founder & President, and Trevor Prichett, CEO, Yards Brewing Company. Leon Dutkiewicz, BABCPHL Board Member, and Partner, Practice Leader – International Tax Services, Citrin Cooperman sponsored the event and spoke for a few minutes about the BABCPHL and his Firm.

Tom and Trevor delivered remarks about Yards’ genesis story, Philadelphia’s hometown beer since 1994. They discussed the evolution of their creative branding, their commitment to the local community, and their first international expansion plans. Yards beer will be making its way from Philadelphia, across the Atlantic Ocean, and into bars in London in time for the Phillies games this June! Trevor spoke about how the company hopes that this will be the beginning of global partnerships to market Yards abroad, and to bring brands from other countries here to Philadelphia by utilizing already established facilities and networks.

Remarks concluded with a business card raffle draw for gifts generously donated by event partners and Yards Brewery. Special thanks to our event sponsor, Citrin Cooperman, and to our partners: the Chilean, French, Irish, Japanese, and Norwegian American Chambers of Commerce, the Commerce Department – City of Philadelphia, the World Affairs Council, and the World Trade Centers of Delaware and Philadelphia.

The BABCPHL was honored to deliver this program, offering international business executives the opportunity to network with professionals operating across our region and in many countries throughout the world. It takes a village, and we would not have been able to present this dynamic networking event without the collaborative efforts of our partners.
