More than ever companies are committed to strengthening diversity and inclusion and have research backed business case for doing so. While huge progress has been made across boundaries of gender, race, and sexual orientation, one area remains neglected: disability.

Business leaders need to look beyond the obvious fixes to attract prospective talent. In a market where there are far more jobs than workers, companies can no longer afford to significantly underutilize a critical talent pool. Persons with disabilities represent ~15% of the population and nearly 80% worldwide are unemployed. With over 1 billion people with disability, companies have a billion reasons to change their hiring practices.

This session will seek to demystify misconceptions about disability inclusion:

  • What is disability inclusion, and how can you adjust your hiring practices to be more inclusive?
  • How do you create a culture of equality and provide additional resources to talent with disabilities?
  • What are the benefits of having good disability inclusion policies?
