The Transatlantic Looking Glass: Lessons Learned – A Look Back & Ahead
On Thursday, December 10th more than 75 people gathered virtually for the BABCPHL 2020 Signature Annual Holiday program, The Transatlantic Looking Glass: Lessons Learned – A Look Back & Ahead, to celebrate the resilient bond between the Greater Philadelphia region and the United Kingdom. The 2020 Signature Annual Holiday event featured keynote speakers and special guests who addressed the importance of this transatlantic relationship, and lessons learned during 2020. Nick Lotz, BABCPHL President and Head of Mid-Atlantic Corporate Banking at HSBC Bank USA N.A.; Antony Phillipson, British Consul General in New York and Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for North America; Svetlana Yazovskikh, BABCPHL Board Member and Vice President of Global Tourism at Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau; Howard Silverstone, BABCPHL Membership Chairman and Director at Forensic Resolutions; and George Reilly, Owner of the Twisted Tail Bourbon House and Juke Joint (click here for speaker bios), provided a look ahead to what we might expect in 2021 and beyond, a raffle draw, UK-US trivia, a live cocktail demo, a toast, and networking. Each year, during the giving season the BABCPHL donates to a regional charitable organization. Food insecurity is one of the greatest problems facing people in our communities. A portion of event revenue was donated to Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, acquiring, rescuing and distributing food to 90,000 people weekly in nine counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
