The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of our world, none more than the worlds of business and education and, as a result, law. As businesses scramble to support their employees around the globe, they must navigate new requests, concerns, and endless questions posed by their workforce. In response, they must remain nimble and have suitable policies in place to protect themselves and their employees in all scenarios, always remembering that they are setting precedents in unprecedented times.
In this webinar, Elizabeth Sawyer, CEO of Bennett International Education Consultancy discussed how changes in the global education landscape have led to extraordinary challenges for international assignees and, consequently, unprecedented requests of their employers; she provided suggestions Global Mobility and HR professionals should consider as they strive to adapt education benefits policies for their employees. Susan M. Guerette and Jocelyn Campanaro, both Partners at Fisher Phillips LLP, provided an overview of the complex matters facing employment, immigration and education law. They also discussed the evolving legal issues, and how the law can serve as a compass in a shifting landscape of questions and challenges. William D. Wright, Partner, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Metro moderated the session.
