The Welsh Government is the devolved Government for Wales, consisting of the First Minister, Welsh Ministers, and the Counsel General, supported by civil servants who operate across devolved areas that include key spheres of public life such as health, education and the environment. Wales has its own government, policies and laws. Welsh Government objectives are to improve the lives of people in Wales and make their nation a better place in which to live and work. Wales has a thriving knowledge economy linked to key UK business hubs with a first class transport infrastructure and some of the least costly and most sought after property. Wales is known for their skilled and loyal workforce, and Welsh Universities are recognized for their industry-focused research and development. The Welsh Government’s mission is to create the right environment for business – to equip the private sector in Wales with the tools to compete as a high value player in the global economy. When business goes to Wales, they don’t just get a workforce, they get a nation on their side. For nearly a decade, The Welsh Government has been actively involved with the BABCPHL. They are a Club Level member, maintain a seat on our Board of Directors, and support our programs and events throughout the calendar year. The Greater Philadelphia region and Wales have a strong historic connection – some of the first Welsh settlers in the US came to Pennsylvania in the mid-1600s. For centuries, the Welsh Government has been closely tied and focused on growing the trade and commercial relationship with the Greater Philadelphia region. Special thanks to the Welsh Government for their partnership and commitment to enhancing the transatlantic relationship.
