Duane Morris LLP – Reopening the Workplace During the COVID-19 Pandemic – What Employers Need to Know
Tuesday, May 12, 2020
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm EST
During the COVID-19 global pandemic, businesses needed to react quickly to shutdown orders, quarantines and new safety requirements. Now, as federal, state and local governments begin to allow businesses to reopen, employers again need to adapt to a continuously changing landscape of executive orders, laws and safety requirements when bringing employees back to work and resuming operations.
In this webinar, we will discuss these important considerations for employers preparing to return to work in this new normal:
· Developing health and safety protocols, including a hazard and risk assessment, modifying both the physical work environment and workplace practices, including the use of PPE such as face coverings, instituting screening protocols, such as temperature testing
· Implementing or continuing work from home arrangements, schedule modifications and compensation changes
· Returning employees and contractors to in-person operations, including mechanisms to clear them
· Recalling employees, including consideration of changes to duties and schedules, selection criteria if not all are to be recalled and other conditions to return to work
· Implementing furloughs and temporary layoffs to avoid WARN and mini-WARN act liability and how to anticipate when their continuation or a transition to termination may trigger liability
· Manager training for all implemented operational changes in employment policies, such as temperature testing, social distancing, PPE usage, handling sick employees and administering paid leave for COVID-19-related reasons
Registration closes at 10:30 am on May 12th
