The BABCPHL proudly supports Mayor Kenney’s business development and retention visit to Ireland and the United Kingdom from October 20-29, 2018. For the past few months we have been collaborating with the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, the State of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and the United Kingdom Department for International Trade to develop the strategic direction for the trip. We provided introductions to BABCPHL stakeholders and assisted in creating the itinerary and engagement schedule with business and government leaders. Several BABCPHL member companies will be participating in binational business meetings in London, Cambridge and Reading. Throughout the trip five commercial seminars will be offered, and more than 30 meetings with private companies, universities, tech hubs, and other organizations will take place.
The BABCPHL’s mission is to promote the trade and investment relationship between the UK and the Greater Philadelphia region. Our organization is part of the largest transatlantic business network with more than 20 chapters and 2,000 member companies based in major business centers throughout the UK and North America. Members include some of the world’s largest multinationals as well as thousands of middle market, small, and privately held entities across industry sectors. Our organization has been operating in the Greater Philadelphia region for nearly 30 years. We are honored to do our part to bolster foreign direct investment in the area, and to support local companies in their transatlantic business opportunities.
