On Thursday, March 12, 2015, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia hosted the Fourth Annual New Jersey Networking event and sit down dinner at The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield, New Jersey. BABC members and friends occupied more than half the restaurant for another fun-filled pub night. Chip Shop proprietors offered attendees a superb selection of specialty beers and a wonderful meal including delicious appetizers: Welsh rarebit, sausage rolls, and deviled eggs. Dinner entrée included a choice of several traditional UK delicacies: bangers and mash, fish and chips, chicken mushroom pie, or beet salad. No meal is complete without dessert. What could be better than homemade British biscuits and English brewed tea?
Howard Silverstone BABC President welcomed guests and provided a brief introduction about the organization and upcoming activities. Howard’s firm, Forensic Resolutions was a co-lead sponsor for the program along with UKUS Tax. Howard spoke a bit about his Firm and the work they do before turning over the stage to Michelle Massimi UKUS Tax Office Manager. Following sponsor remarks a winning business card was drawn for four Philadelphia Union Club tickets to an upcoming soccer match at PPL Park. Finally the intimate group was invited to sit and enjoy dinner. Guests remained long into the evening, continuing to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere. Business cards were exchanged and new connections were made. To top off the night guests were encouraged to take home “doggie bags” filled with Cadbury’s famous chocolate bars that are nearly impossible to source in the US.
The BABC encourages those who were unable to attend the program to take the quick trip to New Jersey to check-out the British Chip Shop.
Special thanks to event sponsors: Forensic Resolutions and UKUS Tax.
