President’s Letter – Fall 2014

Dear BABC Members and Friends,

I am pleased to greet you after the summer months and officially open BABC’s “busy season” by means of this fall newsletter. This summer we participated in several business networking events. We also published our annual membership directory containing valuable business service information and contact data on both sides of the pond, as well as member details and corporate descriptions facilitating business development, along with trade statistics and a year-in-review of BABC programs. Special thanks to all who contributed by purchasing, without you this annual publication would not be possible.

We have many exciting, educational and networking programs planned during the coming months, and hope you will join us to learn more about the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership; global transfer pricing; the strategic impact of an effective global marketing/PR campaign to promote international business; and valuable information about international trade and security. New this year is a special day-of-service on Martin Luther King Day to benefit the Philadelphia public school system led by our Young Professionals Group, and a special theatre night at Inis Nua, just to highlight two of our upcoming planned activities. Remember to frequent our website and follow us on social media for constant updates and to register for BABC events.

While this is my last communication with you serving as BABC Board President, I am leaving you in expert hands with Howard Silverstone from Forensic Resolutions. Many of you know Howard who has been an active BABC Board Member, prior Board President and most recently Co-Marketing & Communications Chairman. Howard, a Brit who has lived and worked in the region for more than two decades has been a passionate and active advocate for the BABC during that time and graciously accepted his nomination to complete my term due to my recent move back to the UK. With that I thank you for your kindness and support, and wish you and the entire BABC community of Greater Philadelphia a successful program year. I look forward to monitoring activity from Scotland and to visiting with you upon future trips to the US.

Best wishes,
Gary Marshall
President, British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia
