The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre presents: Love’s Labour’s Lost
July 30, 2014 – August 17, 2014
The King of Navarre and his friends decide that they are going to take a vow to avoid women for three years, in order to pursue a life of study. As soon as they take their oath, the Princess of France and her ladies -in-waiting arrive, and put to the test the lofty resolve of the men.Shakespeare’s witty and effervescent comedy takes us on a roller coaster ride, as the characters wrestle and then untangle their unrealistic vows. Shakespeare also winks at us as he suggests the most interesting course of study, is in fact, the endlessly fascinating relationships between lovers.
