On Thursday, February 6, 2014, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia hosted the Third Annual New Jersey Networking event and sit down dinner at The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield, New Jersey. The program was a complete sell-out, and the venue was filled to capacity with 45 BABC members and friends. Chip Shop proprietors provided attendees with a superb selection of specialty beers, and a wonderful meal that included British pub style appetizers – Welsh rarebit, devils on horseback, and curried cheese chips. For dinner guests had a choice of beef stew, bangers and mash, fish and chips or vegetable curry. The meal concluded with perfect amount of sweet digestive – homemade British biscuits and brewed tea.
Hope Krebs, BABC Membership Co-Chair, and immediate past President welcomed guests and provided a brief discussion about the organization and upcoming activities. Following Hope’s remarks a winning business card was drawn for a signed Philadelphia Union jersey, and the intimate group was invited to sit and enjoy dinner. Guests remained at the event long after it was over, continuing to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere. Business cards were exchanged and new connections were made. Each attendee was given a lovely parting gift bag with Cadbury’s famous chocolate to savor at home. Guests left with a warm, full stomach after an enjoyable evening of networking British style.
The BABC encourages those who were unable to attend the program to take the quick trip to New Jersey to check-out the British Chip Shop and English Gardener Gift Shop.
