On Thursday, February 7, 2013, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia hosted the Second Annual New Jersey Networking event and sit down dinner at The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield, New Jersey. The program was a tremendous success, and the venue was filled to capacity with more than 30 BABC members and friends. Chip Shop proprietors outdid themselves again and provided guests with a superb selection of specialty beers, and a wonderful meal that included a sampling of the menu from their new British inspired restaurant and bar – The Victoria Freehouse, now open in Old City.
Hope Krebs, BABC Board President welcomed guests and provided a brief discussion about the organization and upcoming activities. Following Hope’s remarks a winning business card was drawn for a signed Philadelphia Union pennant, and the intimate group was invited to sit and enjoy dinner. The traditional British pub meal concluded with tea and a decadent dessert. Guests remained at the event long after it was over, continuing to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere. Cadbury’s famous “Crunchie” candy bars were presented to each attendee as a parting gift before they braved the cold February night air.
The BABC encourages those who were unable to attend the program to take the quick trip to New Jersey to check-out the British Chip Shop and English Gardner Gift Shop.
