The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1827. PHS motivates people to improve the quality of life and create a sense of community through horticulture. PHS is a leader in urban and community greening with programs such as Plant One Million and City Harvest.
PHS is also the producer of The Philadelphia International Flower Show, the largest indoor flower show in the world and the largest event in Philadelphia, attracting nearly 300,000 people. The Flower Show, which started here in Philadelphia in 1829, has a $61 million economic impact on the city, equivalent of 637 full-time jobs, generates $8 million in tax revenue and occupies 25,000 hotel room nights.
In 2013, the Flower Show theme is, “Brilliant!” – a celebration of the contemporary culture, design, gardens and landscapes of Great Britain.
Britain represents 1,000 years of art and design, theater and performance, architecture and horticulture, culminating in the sophisticated cityscape and landscapes of modern London. The 2013 Philadelphia International Flower Show will capture that amazing cultural heritage and how it is expressed in the 21st century designs of one of the world’s greatest cities.
The central feature of the 2013 Flower Show will focus on London and how it has influenced the modern world. Other exhibits will be inspired by both the historical and contemporary landscapes and floral designs of Great Britain and lift up the extraordinary passion the English have for gardening.
To ensure an authentic and spectacular Show experience, PHS has developed relationships with the Royal Horticultural Society, who produces the internationally-acclaimed Chelsea Flower Show, which celebrates its 100th Show in 2013. PHS will also work closely with British artists, fashion designers, horticulturists, and landscape and floral designers to create garden displays, entertainment, and exhibits in hundreds of categories.
Last, but certainly not least, PHS will be working very closely with the BABC of Philadelphia in creating a full-year of British-themed events and programming culminating at the 2013 Philadelphia International Flower Show.

Founded in 1974, People’s Light, a professional theatre, is situated on a seven-acre site in Malvern, Chester County which includes two black box theatres (375 and 180 seats), and an 18th century Farmhouse Bistro and Banquet Room which can be rented for special events.
The Theatre produces seven to nine plays annually mixing world premieres, contemporary plays and fresh approaches to classics, and extends its mission through Arts Discovery, the Theatre’s education programs.
