From June 26 – 28, 2023 UK Education Technology providers exhibited at ISTELive in Philadelphia at the UK pavilion. On Monday evening, June 26th the Department for International Trade, the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) and Bett Global sponsored a reception for the UK providers and a select group of BABCPHL Executive Committee Members. Oliver Franklin, Honorary British Consul provided welcome and introductory remarks.
BESA members represent over 80% of UK suppliers, including EdTech, publishing, assessment, furniture and equipment companies of all sizes. Bett, the global community for education technology, sparks ideas, creates connection and accelerates trade, driving impact and improving outcomes for teachers and learners.
Education transforms lives. It’s one of the most important investments a country can make for its people and its future. The UK is a leader in the field. Many foreign governments and institutions look toward the UK for their innovative work in this area. EdTech is one of the UK’s fastest growing sectors with more than 1,000 companies accounting for 4% of all digital companies. Schools in the UK were spending more than £900 million per year on education technology pre-pandemic and market demand is growing in the post-pandemic world. The UK ranks as No 1 in EdTech venture capital and angel funding in Europe.
