On Friday, September 30th the British American Business Council, Citizen Diplomacy International, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Department of Commerce hosted an energy, climate and sustainability exchange between UK and Greater Philadelphia areas leaders. The groups collaborated to deliver dialogue about green technology, innovation and sustainability efforts, and partnerships between public and private sector entities operating in the transatlantic corridor.
Howard Silverstone of the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia opened the meeting, welcoming our visitors and guests. Attendees spoke about their expertise and how their work is growing momentum following the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland (COP26) in 2021.
Energy, climate and sustainability leaders from the UK and Greater Philadelphia enjoyed the exclusive breakfast forum where they engaged in meaningful conversation about Philadelphia’s efforts in supporting green energy businesses and initiatives that are creating jobs, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening the economy.
The UK delegates were invited by the US Department of State-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program. The exchange was sponsored by the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs with funding provided by the US Government. We are grateful to our regional partner, Citizen Diplomacy International, who managed the visit and invited us to collaborate on this important and meaningful visit.
