In recent years, ESG reporting has progressed from being a nice-to-have to being a regulatory must for some industries. In the US, recent proposals from the SEC have risen it up the corporate agenda, while in the UK, the taxonomy regulation sets out specific economic activities that must be met to be considered environmentally sustainable. Meanwhile, voluntary ESG assessment and reporting continues to become ever more sophisticated.
