Her Majesty The Queen Toured Independence NHP

Last week, acting Consul-General, Hannah Young and a team from the British Consulate were in Philadelphia for a series of meetings and a special tour of Independence Hall. Their visit coincided with the anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s 1976 Philadelphia tour of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, to commemorate America’s 200th birthday. 45 years ago, Her Majesty presented the US with the Bicentennial Bell, a gift on behalf of the UK. The US-UK relationship is deeply rooted in history, spanning economic, political and social ties between the two nations. Special thanks to Hannah and her team for visiting our region and strengthening UK interest throughout Greater Philadelphia. The BABCPHL looks forward to our partnership as we build upon and create new bonds.
