It’s been more than a year since the killing of George Floyd. Companies have been called to action by the public in the fight against racial injustice, and studies show that since 2020 people have invested more trust in the power of corporations over other institutions to respond to systemic racism.

After a year of public commitments made by business leaders to address this pressing issue, where are we currently on this road? What do public perceptions of corporate responsiveness to race relations say about our progress so far? What are the gaps still, and how can business leaders respond at this juncture?

Panelists will delve into:

  • Edelman’s research findings on Public Trust & Racial Justice: What is the degree of public trust in organizations or companies to respond to systemic racism and racial injustice?
  • Actionable steps companies can take to actively dismantle unconscious bias, and for business leaders to authentically gain credibility to influence and make positive impact in this area and ensure that this progress resonates with consumers and the public
  • How corporate boards can leverage their influence to not only shape the workforce of the future, but directly address pressing social issues, placing diversity & inclusion at the heart of new strategies around the future of work

“The Stir” is BritishAmerican Business’ inclusion & diversity initiative. Launched in 2011, this critical program series has grown and evolved in response to the changing needs within the transatlantic business community. In short, we are creating a stir: an open, honest conversation on how diversity & inclusion are not just good for business, but vital.

Together with our partners, BAB continues to remain vigilant in addressing these issues via a series of content-rich and community-building programs featuring the latest research, best practices, and real-world examples to make our case.
