The Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to join us for a virtual breakfast event the morning after the U.S. election returns are posted. Join us to discuss the election outcome, provide insight into the potential consequences of new administration and explore what this may mean for the British-American relationship.

The race to the Presidency is highly contested this year. Will President Trump be elected to a second term? Will Joe Biden make it  to the White House?  The results will be highly anticipated by many individuals all around the world and this is the event to come to for some realistic and honest comment on the outcome.

The first speaker to be announced this week is Jonathan Strassberg, US Attorney at Law, True Course Ltd

Jonathan, a U.S. attorney at law, helps UK companies that wish to trade with, expand to and operate in the US marketplace.  His services include: establishing an appropriate business structure; commercial contracts and negotiations; commercial risk reduction; licensing agreements; employment and sub-contractor agreements; terms and conditions of trade; federal and state regulations and working alongside tax, immigration and other expert professionals to create the most effective and comprehensive international strategy for his clients.

Jonathan attended this event 4 years ago and gave some insightful comments on how the result would impact the US / UK “special relationship”, this time with a US / UK free trade agreement on the agenda, it will be an interesting discussion.

The second speaker announced is David Hastings Dunn, Professor of International Politics at the University of Birmingham

David is currently Director of Internationalisation for the College of Social Sciences. Between August 2012 and August 2016 he was Head of Department in the Department of Political Science and International Studies. Since 2000 he has served as Chairman of the West Midlands Military Education Committee. He is the author and editor of 4 books and over 80 book chapters and academic articles mostly. He is also a former holder of a NATO Fellowship, and a Fulbright Fellowship, the latter spent as a Guest Scholar at the National Defence University in Washington DC. His main research interests are US Politics, US Foreign Policy, Security Studies  and Diplomacy. He is a frequent commentator on local and regional media channels.
