WTC Delaware – The British Viewpoint of the UK-US Foreign Trade Agreement Negotiations

On Wednesday, September 30, World Trade Center Delaware held a virtual discussion with Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for North America, Antony Phillipson, on the future of the US-UK relationship, and the progress towards a Free Trade Agreement between the countries.

About Antony Phillipson

As Consul General, Mr. Phillipson leads the government’s work promoting UK economic, commercial, political, and consular interests in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Fairfield County, Connecticut. As Trade Commissioner, he champions British trade as the UK prepares for future trade agreements with countries around the world and leads the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) in North America.

Mr. Phillipson has held a number of other posts in Her Majesty’s Government since joining the Civil Service in 1993, most recently he was Director of Trade and Partnerships in the Department for Exiting the European Union. His previous roles include being Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Counselor at the Embassy in Washington, the Prime Minister’s Private Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Head of the FCO Iran Coordination Group and High Commissioner to Singapore. Antony has a degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
