2020 British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia Signature Annual Holiday Event
The Transatlantic Looking Glass: Lessons Learned – A Look Back & Ahead

Date: Thursday, December 10, 2020

Time: 12:00 – 1:00 pm EST

Location: Virtual

Please join us for our Signature Annual Holiday program. For three decades we have celebrated the holiday season with an in-person luncheon featuring notable speakers, networking, a formal midday meal, “Christmas Crackers,” and the opportunity to win valuable holiday gifts. While this year will be unique, we look forward to a celebration of the resilient bond between the Greater Philadelphia region and the United Kingdom. The 2020 Signature Annual Holiday event will feature keynote speakers and special guests who will address the importance of this transatlantic relationship, lessons learned during 2020, and provide a look ahead to what we might expect in 2021. We will conclude the one-hour program with a midday celebration including valuable giveaways, trivia, a live cocktail demo, a toast, and networking. Join us to bid 2020 farewell, and to ring in 2021.

Each year, during the giving season we donate to a regional charitable organization. Food insecurity is one of the greatest problems facing people in our communities. A portion of event revenue will be donated to Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, acquiring, rescuing and distributing food to 90,000 people weekly in nine counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Of the people Philabundance serves, 30% percent are children and 16% percent are seniors. Others who seek food assistance include people with disabilities, single parents, veterans, students and working class families. Inadequate food and chronic nutrient deficiencies have profound effects on a person’s life and health, including increased risks for chronic diseases, higher chances of hospitalization, poorer overall health, and increased health care costs. As the nation faces the COVID-19 pandemic, access to essential needs like food is more important than ever to help keep vulnerable populations healthy and mitigate co-occurring health risks.
