As states move forward in their reopening progress, Americans have greater opportunity to eat out, shop and even travel. This return to some semblance of normalcy has helped reignite an economy battered by the coronavirus and has helped unemployment drop.
Now, the question will be whether “reopening” fuels an economic turnaround anytime soon, or whether the downturn will extend into next year as people struggle to go back to work and the nation contends with a possible second wave of infections.
