Dear BABC Members and Friends,
Greetings and Happy New Year! I am pleased to communicate with you early this calendar year and invite you to join us for our educational and networking programs that will enable you to build valuable connections, and promote your business and services. In September 2014, I was re-elected President of the BABC. I last served as President a decade ago. During the past ten years I have seen great change and increased BABC activities. When I came to the Philadelphia region from London in May 1985, “We Are the World” was top of the Billboard chart. With the advent of the internet and social media, the song has even more meaning now. We are all more closely connected and socially aware. As a Brit, living and working in the region for this amount of time, the BABC has played an important role in my life. It is a true honor to serve you in this capacity again and I look forward to seeing you during the coming months.
We have many exciting events planned and I hope you will join us to: meet the Deputy Ambassador Patrick Davies in Wilmington, Delaware; serve our community on Martin Luther King Day in support of the Philadelphia public school system; view a special production of a Scottish show; welcome the First Minister of Wales to the region; enjoy our annual NJ Networking evening at a traditional British fish shop; and learn more about the importance of corporate social responsibility. This year will mark my 30th anniversary on this side of the Atlantic and 2015 is off to a flying start with several important programs.
