Mayor of Philadelphia Launches International Delegation to UK

4 – 6 November 2013

Calling Philadelphia’s innovators in tech, cleantech, life sciences, infrastructure investment, financial, professional and business services!

Are you looking at setting up a European presence, or interested in learning more about opportunities for business in the UK?

Join the Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter, as he leads a delegation of US business ambassadors to the UK, in partnership with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). The delegates will embark on a journey to share in the economic, cultural and political highlights of the UK. Join this mission to learn more about launching your global adventures and shaping your international expansion strategies.

Delegates will take part in a specially tailored program designed to give you a broad understanding of the UK sector landscapes, funding streams, R&D platforms and procurement processes around market opportunities; as well as to explore business collaboration opportunities, potential partners and clients. You’ll also gain access to top industry experts and influencers, in addition to senior government officials and decision makers, which will help you to position your company for success in the UK!

Spending three days in London, UKTI will host UK economic briefings, corporate roundtables on leading industrial issues and sector propositions, visits to entrepreneurial hotspots in the community, and share the UK’s innovation story.

You will attend a welcome networking reception with a spectrum of UK companies looking to do business with the US. In addition, you will experience the UK’s cultural scene strengthening the historic ties between nations – and, of course, a visit to London isn’t complete without a Tour of Parliament and the London 2012 Olympic Park!

Armed with local insight you’ll complete the mission better prepared to take on the UK market, Europe, and international collaborations. After visiting the UK, the Mayor will go on to Israel, 7 – 11 November. For information about the Israel trip, please contact John Churchill, Director of Economic Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel in Philadelphia at economic@philadelphia.mfa.gov.il.
