The 2012 London Olympic Games came to a close on August 12, 2012. The Closing Ceremony at the London 20120 Olympic stadium paid tribute to UK culture with performances by George Michael, The Who, and Spice Girls, among others.
The United States led the medal count with 104 (46 gold), followed by China with 88 (38 gold) and Great Britain with 65 (29 gold).
