Message from the President

Dear BABC Members,

As our fiscal year draws to a close, we reflect upon the past year and the many successes of the BABC. Our programs and events are timely and informative, and we continue to grow and increase our profile. This has been a remarkable year for the BABC: we celebrated our 20th anniversary; fully embraced our virtual presence in the social media sphere; launched our Young Professionals Group; and hosted successful meetings in three states – Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

The City of Philadelphia is truly undergoing a “Brit Invasion.” At the end of April the BABC launched Brit Invasion 2012. Notice our new banner at the top of this newsletter and on our website. Brit Invasion 2012 includes a series of exciting programs featuring: British Royalty; BABC Young Professionals; local businesses supporting the London Olympics and numerous opportunities to network and enhance commercial ties between the Greater Philadelphia region and the UK. During the next year we will see an even greater UK presence in our area, including the 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show featuring the UK, titled “Brilliant!”

Over the summer, the BABC publishes our Annual Membership Directory. Please update your company listing and consider advertising in the 2012-2013 Directory – the region’s premier guide for international business. As always, thank you for your support. We look forward to your participation in our upcoming events. Don’t forget to find us online – We are live on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Flickr.

Hope P. Krebs, Esq. President, British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia
