The Honorable Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael A. Nutter, will welcome Prince Edward and formally thank Dan Phelan, Senior Advisor to the CEO of GlaxoSmithKline. GSK recently contributed $5 million to the youth of the City of Philadelphia, including a $500,000 designation to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Philadelphia Program.
This international program was established in 1956 by Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, to inspire, guide and support young people in their self-development and to recognize their achievements. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Philadelphia Program was launched in September 2009.
A portion of proceeds from this breakfast will be donated to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Philadelphia Program.
